The gold brass heart belt buckle with etched motif is gorgeous and was created by a process called salt water etching.  The image is hand drawn onto the metal and etched away with a little bit of chemistry and electricity. Brass rivets are added for more dimension and interest. The buckle is then "blackened" to bring out the beautiful rendering. The buckle is of a sturdy 14 gauge red brass metal, and hooks to your belt with a pin construction.
